We offer a comprehensive program for the Rookie skier or the Veteran alike.. As per normal we offer Dryland Ski Conditioning 12 weeks September to November to get a TRAINING EFFECT. As a knowledge able athlete or soon to be [we’ll get you up to speed on the latest training techniques and fitness practices].
For the Rookie skier we offer as many as 9 Dryland sessions for XC Skiers. Rollerskiing with video analysis; classic or skating plus Skiwalking aka Nordic Walking will duplicate on snow skiing. Plus we offer a different and thoroughly modern twist on an OLD training technique; we use Kettlebells along with body weight resistance training to get you skiing weekends by late November at the best available early snow locations.
All our club skiers will have the opportunity to join us on snow each Saturday in November, to get you ready for our Winter Masters or Adult Ski Fitness classes now in 2018-19 season at Confederation Golf Courses.
Dryland Ski Conditioning is for those of you who have just come out of rehabilitation, are out of shape or gasp shock horror have not touched an XC ski pole in your training since the end of last ski season. So think this through: you haven’t been on a pair of rollerskis 2-3 days a week or you haven’t been Nordic Walking with ski poles in your hands 1-2 days a week plus doing some body weight calisthenics..
What are you waiting for?
We are an EVENT focused ski club and we strongly also encourage participation in the ABCup circuit stops in Canmore, November.18 January.18 and Drayton Valley in February.19
For the veteran who has a long term focus e.g. ABCup Circuit, some the longer more challenging Loppets or the Western Canadian Championships may we suggest Dryland Ski Conditioning and Masters sessions.
12 week Dryland Ski Conditioning details:
DSC sessions starting first Saturday post Labour Day in September to the end of November will be Tuesdays/Thurs/Sat/Sun.
A 20% discount is applied for post secondary students age 19-26 who train with CNTG more than 2 days per week(Age group on Dec 31 on the year the ski season ends).

Each day’s activities will be:
Tuesdays: Dryland for XC skiers! You gasp shock HORROR have NOT used a ski pole since last season or before, Kettlebells, Body weight activities and some gentle running, skiwalking – ski striding up hill. [ We also offer an afternoon session too]
Thursdays: Rollerskiing – classic skate skiing – all will get you ready to ski injury free. [ We also offer an afternoon session too]
Saturdays: In Town Double Days skiwalking then rollerskiing or in the Mountains
Sundays: AM Rollerskiing around the ‘cowtown PM Skiwalking usually Nosehill Park, North Fish Creek Park or Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. PM Skiwalking usually Nosehill Park.
Winter Training Early December – Mid March
Adult Skiing & Masters details:
Adult Skill Improvement 16-61+ – Technique Focus Mondays/Wednesdays.
Masters & Age Group Skiers 19-61+ – Fitness Focus Tuesdays/Thursdays.
Skiing sessions start on or about the first week of December to Xmas Break, Second Week in January to Second Week in March.
